What do you do when you are craving a burger, but are trying to be good? You make these Spicy Nut Crumbs Turkey burgers, that's what you do! This easy weekday meal is a must try and will not take you more than 20 minutes. 

1 lb ground turkey
1 egg
1/4 c. green onion chopped
salt & pepper
e.v.o.o. & ghee


Add all your ingredients (minus the e.v.o.o. and ghee) into a bowl and mix together with your hands. You want to make sure all the ingredients are fully combined without over mixing.

Once ingredients are combined, form into patties the size of your palm. I always make turkey burgers a little smaller than beef burgers, because you don't want that pink center with turkey, and if you make the burgers too big, they will take forever to cook all the way.

Once you have your patties ready to go, get a pan sizzling with some e.v.o.o. and ghee. You can use whatever fat you'd like to cook up the burgers. I tend to shy away from the grill with turkey, because it can be so dry. Frying the turkey meat in a little fat does wonders for the texture, taste, and overall mouth feel of the burger.

Once the burgers are in the skillet, put the lid on them. Cook on one side about 3-5 minutes or until brown, flip and do the same for the other side. At this point feel free to add your favorite cheese. A fantastic combo (that you will crave every single time, once you've tasted) is blue cheese topped with orange marmalade and sprouts on some really delicious buns. YUM. If you're going the healthier route, you can forego the cheese and the bun and use some butter lettuce for a wrap. Either way, these Spicy Nut Crumbs turkey burgers pack so much flavor you will not be disappointed. Pair with your favorite veggie or salad and dinner (and lunch tomorrow) is served!
